Foreigners are making thousands of phone calls to US voters, asking them to support Bernie Sanders in his run for US President. They give US voters information, such as where they can vote, and how to support Sanders financially. According to the information I have been able to find, this is legal because they work as volunteers, and they are not members of a Foreign Government.
According to a group of Canadian college students, they look at America and see an old, broken, and oppressive form of government that must be fundamentally changed. They are volunteering for Sanders because they believe he will provide a larger platform for others, who can bring this change, such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.
With no way of knowing how many foreign volunteers are working for US campaigns, or from what countries they come from, one has to ask, “What exactly is the Left’s stance on foreign interference in a US election?”
Sanders has a calling service linked to his campaign’s website. Anyone, from any location, can go there and use his automated dialing system to reach out to voters targeted by Bernie’s campaign. It is unclear from looking at his site if Bernie has any way of knowing where his volunteers are coming from, or if he is even concerned with that information.
Has Bernie’s campaign truly been an American grass-roots movement, or have his supporters been unwittingly influenced by a bombardment of calls from young foreigners from socialist countries?
